Two centuries prior to F-ZERO, he was a top notch driver, known for his daring style. In a tragic turn of events, though, he got involved in a massive accident that killed him. Through science and dark magic, The Skull lives yet again. His mission now was to reclaim that glory he lost so long ago.
The Sonic Phantom is a speed demon. It has incredibly high speed, incredibly strong boost, and the handling to prove it. Since it sacrifices so much for the need for speed, its body is average, but slightly weak. Meanwhile, it has a tough time turning decently. It's still not an issue for the Sonic Phantom. One could not call themselves a speed demon if they weren't using this machine.

Sonic Phantom is quite the powerhouse. It's especially powerful since The Skull (or Arbin Gordon / Sterling LaVaughn of his real name, depending on the releases) is already dead, so he wouldn't mind going for a risky driving style.
